Selenium Webdriver is at its adolescent. It is gaining shares in test
automation industry very rapidly due to its several promising features.
It is a open source tool (boon for management) supporting cross-browser
and cross-platform testing (boon for clients) and can be written in
several languages such as Java, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, C# etc. (boon
for engineers). Hence it is a win-win situation for all the
stakeholders. Many argue that its inability to test windows based
application is a biggest disadvantage. But then almost all the
applications are migrating to web.
Mindfire has successfully carried out several projects using Selenium
Webdriver. Automation engineers at Mindfire have always the alacrity to
update themselves with recent happenings on this space. They have put a
lot of effort to educate themselves on the optimal usage of this
technology through self-learning, discussions among peers, forum
participation etc. Since we have learned (and learning) many things from
the community, we thought of sharing our knowledge back to the
community and hence takes birth this blog site.
We will be posting our learnings/experiences in this space. Since all
the projects we have executed are Webdriver with Java, the posts will be
about using Webdriver with Java.
